Useful information for the new year

With the new year come some adjustments and changes to your health insurance.

New premiums

You will have received your policy with your new premium in October. If you pay your premium by standing order, remember to adjust the amount as of 1 January 2024.

Please note that health insurance premiums must be paid in advance. That means you need to pay your premium for January 2024 by the end of December 2023.

Paying your premiums: straightforward and on time

  • Direct debit (LSV) and Swiss Direct Debit (CH-DD)
    Your premiums are debited directly from your account – you don’t need to do anything else.
  • eBill
    You receive premium invoices electronically in eBanking or eFinance and can approve them there in one click.

Avoid fees for payments at the post office counter

Payment of premium invoices and benefit statements at the post office counter is subject to a fee. If you make payments for basic insurance bills at the post office counter from 1 January 2024 onwards, we will be passing on the corresponding fee to you with the following premium bill. We recommend you to use one of the free of charge payment methods mentioned above.

Premium invoice: up to 2% discount

If you pay your premium on a yearly or six-monthly basis in advance, this reduces the amount of processing we have to do and therefore saves on admin costs. We pass this saving directly onto you: customers enjoy a 2% discount when paying yearly and a 1% discount when paying every six months. Would you like to benefit from this discount?

Cost overview for tax return

You will automatically receive the cost overview for your 2023 tax return in January. This includes the premiums and all invoices that Sympany processed between 1 January and 31 December 2023. Receipts that we do not settle until 2024 will be listed in the 2024 cost overview.

Invoices cannot be listed retrospectively on the 2023 cost overview. Please therefore keep the benefit statements sent to you throughout the year in case the tax authorities have any queries.

In the customer portal and in the app, you can manage your payment details, submit invoices, receive your documents online and much more.
