mySympany: login for family members

All adult family members can now register for mySympany – previously only the main policyholder was able to do so. From now on, they can manage their own insurance, submit receipts and use other features. Find out everything you need to know here.

The benefits of mySympany for family members

Family members registered in mySympany can independently

  • submit receipts,
  • adjust their insurance, or 
  • send messages to customer service from mySympany.

Until now, only the person acting as Sympany’s contact person for the family – i.e. the main policyholder – could register for mySympany. This person manages the insurance policies of everyone under a family policy and will continue to be in charge of the main profile in the mySympany family account.

Registered family members will be given limited access to the family account. They can only manage their own insurance policy, and not the policies of other family members. You can find out exactly what this means in the Profiles and user roles in the family account section.

Profiles and user roles in the family account

The main profile offers a full range of features and access to information about all co-insured family members. The main profile is always managed by the main policyholder. This is the person who receives all correspondence from Sympany and pays the bills.

Full range of features in the main profile:

  • View the information and insurance policies of all family members and make changes to the basic insurance policies of all family members,
  • make changes that affect all family members, e.g. to the home address or the language of correspondence,
  • view and change payment information and
  • view documents that concern several people, e.g. summarised benefit statements.

Adult registered family members will be given limited access to the family account. They see information that relates exclusively to them personally and can only manage their own insurance policy. 

Range of features for family members:

  • View your own benefit statements, contract details and documents,
  • submit your own receipts and
  • adjust your own basic insurance, e.g. change your deductible or accident cover, switch your doctor’s practice, etc.

If a family member wants the full range of features, they will need their own account. This means that their policy will be split from the family policy and they will become the main policyholder. They will then receive their own mySympany account and will be able to use all the features. More about policy splitting ›
