Sympany Foundation Day 2025
This year’s Sympany Foundation Day on the topic of “Poverty and Health” focussed on Winterhilfe Basel-Stadt. This organisation is committed to helping adults and children who are at risk of poverty and live on or below the poverty line.
Poverty in Switzerland is often invisible, but nevertheless very real. The Sympany Foundation Day impressively demonstrated how poverty can make people ill and, conversely, how illness can lead to poverty. The speakers explained where the challenges lie and what ways there are to overcome social and health inequality.
