Marco Häfliger appointed as an Executive Board member
Marco Häfliger heads Sympany’s new Existing Customers business area from 1 March 2026.
Basel, 2 March 2026 – Sympany is pleased to announce the appointment of Marco Häfliger as an Executive Board member and Head of the Existing Customers business area. Marco Häfliger (45) joined Sympany back in 2013. He initially worked as Head of Risk Management, then from 2016 to 2023 as Head of Risk & Compliance Management, and since September 2023 he has been Head of Benefits for Private Customers.
After studying economics at the University of Basel, he worked in various roles in the Audit Insurance division at PricewaterhouseCoopers, and during this time he trained to become a certified auditor alongside his work.

The Existing Customers business area was created as of 1 March 2026. This gives even more weight to supporting and winning the loyalty of insured persons. After a two-year stabilisation phase, Sympany is now in a stronger position. With the new business area and other organisational changes, Sympany is systematically positioning itself for the future in order to successfully implement its strategy with its approximately 570 employees.
