Cyber attack on external service provider
At the beginning of November 2023, there was a ransomware attack on the software development company Concevis AG, of which Sympany is a customer.
Concevis develops a tool for Sympany to create quotes. During the ransomware attack, data at Concevis was encrypted. Sympany’s IT systems were not affected by the attack. It is not yet clear whether Sympany customer data has been affected. The analysis at Concevis is still ongoing.
Sympany has notified the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority FINMA and the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner FDPIC, as well as the Federal Office of Public Health FOPH.
