Telephone consulting works like this:
- Using key words, note down your patient history (allergies, operations) before your call together with the symptoms of your current health problem. Keep the medication you are currently taking to hand.
- Call 0844 000 724. A medical specialist will note your details and the reason for your call. They will then call you back.
- The Medgate doctor will call you back to advise you. He or she will discuss with you how you can treat yourself, recommend you to see a doctor or refer you directly to a specialist. If necessary, Medgate will remain in close contact with you or take other action.
- Medgate will discuss with you what to do next: Consultation by telephone (i.e. symptoms can be treated by telemedicine), a visit to the doctor or hospital admission.
If you wish, Medgate will provide your doctor with a written summary of the discussion. The consultations are recorded by Medgate. They are of course subject to medical secrecy and are treated confidentially.
