The new insurance group will adopt a segment specific approach towards the market and will operate under the "Sympany" brand from 1 November 2008. "Sympany" aims to be "refreshingly different" in its provision of insurance services. 400 highly motivated staff will look after 188,000 insured persons and generate sales of CHF 750 million. The group's head office will remain in Basel.
