Sympany now offering property and liability insurance products
Sympany is expanding its product range from the beginning of June 2009: to complement its proven and successful health and accident insurance products, Sympany will be offering property and liability insurance, thereby affording added value under one roof.

Basel, 27 May 2009 – From the beginning of June 2009, Sympany is complementing its successful health and accident insurance offerings with household insurance (household contents, buildings and personal liability insurance) and motor insurance.

By expanding its product range, Sympany is providing its customers with the opportunity to obtain the most popular insurance products – among which number health insurance, motor insurance and household insurance – from one insurance partner under one roof. In this way Sympany's expansion of its product range is catering to a genuine customer need. What is more, Sympany grants attractive discounts on the purchase of different insurance products from its health and accident and property and personal liability lines.

Monthly premium payments and discounts
The new property and liability insurance offerings have been designed to reflect findings from extensive market surveys. These revealed that many Swiss are looking for better services and simpler processes from their insurers: one point of contact for all their questions, and one discernible philosophy in all insurance covers and conditions. Simpler processes include people's preference of paying their motor and household insurance in monthly instalments in the same way as their health insurance. Sympany offers this service without any additional charges. Monthly payments make it possible for customers to pay large premiums in instalments. This renders the monthly share of premiums transparent and calculable – a feature that is of particular interest to those with small and family budgets.

Two options available
The new product range is available as a "standard" package that provides basic cover at a particularly attractive price and covers all the insured's needs. A "premium" package is also available that offers more extensive benefits.

Everything under one roof
In contrast to other insurers who also work across several insurance lines, Sympany offers its own made-to-measure products. While most of its competitors act as intermediaries for the products of other providers of property, liability, health and accident insurance, Sympany itself services all of its customer needs across all its product lines. Beat Ochsner, CEO of the Sympany Group, comments: "We are one of the few insurance companies to offer the most popular types of insurance under one roof. This enables us to provide simpler processes and thus more reasonably priced overall services." The latter includes claims management, which Sympany also takes care of itself.

Looking to the future, Beat Ochsner remarks: "Health and accident insurance will continue to be Sympany's core activity. After all, 2014 will be our 100th anniversary of operating in this field. Our corporate customers business has also firmly established itself. We are confident that our entry into property and liability insurance offers our customers genuine added value – and that this will rapidly develop into a third core activity for Sympany."
