First interactive company TV channel
Basel/Zurich, 17.3.08 – A new road for Sympany: it is the first Swiss company to launch its own interactive TV channel. Sympany aims to communicate in ways that
are closer to real life and refreshingly different from other insurance companies. An entertaining format, networked with other media, makes information available to the company’s present insurance customers and those who are interested. Sympany TV will be aired four times a year, in conjunction with the publication of a magazine.

Sympany insures people – people who often find the insurance market difficult to deal with because it is abstract and heavily regulated. Multimedia communications will present insurance-related information in an entertaining way, and will therefore achieve a higher level of recognition. Sympany TV can also be seen as an advertising channel with a difference, as the content is also intended to get potential insurance customers interested and help to give the new brand a solid foundation.

The quarterly programmes will include five sections: Reportage and an interview on hot topics; Comedy with Beat Schlatter and Hans Schenker; Wish-fulfilment with Melanie Winiger and Jubaira Bachmann; Cityhopper with personal tips on going out; Pinboard with useful information.

These sections will allow users to access individual parts of the programme directly, with downloads of supplementary information, wallpaper and links to partner websites. Of course, Sympany will also include advertising spots for its own products in the structure of the programmes.

Development and production is in collaboration with the Schellenberg + Benz ASW agency in Zurich.

Every year, Sympany’s 384 highly motivated employees take care of 188,000 customers with basic insurance, 472,000 customers with supplementary insurance, and 7000 corporate customers, achieving sales of CHF 750 million.
